Reports To



  • Provide personnel and our guests with a consistent level of friendly, impressive service that exceeds their expectations during Sharks home hockey games and other SAP Center at San Jose Events.
  • Patrol the SAP Center in an organized, systematic manner.
  • Respond in a competent, professional manner to radio and telephone calls for medical assistance throughout the facility and surrounding parking lots.
  • Learn and follow established protocols in order to provide advanced first aid and basic life support to SAP Center guests and employees as needed.
  • Direct guests to their seats and be responsive to their needs, questions, comments, and complaints.
  • Occasionally assist in other areas such as removing portable chairs after some events, helping with clean up, and/or office/clerical work.
  • Practice infection control standards at all times when working with personnel and equipment.

  • Approximately 10-20 hours per week, depending on SAP Center event schedule.
  • Generally work six to eight hour shifts on Sharks and Barracuda game days at SAP Center.


  • The schedule is done a monthly basis. Emergency Medical Technicians are scheduled based on availability, performance, and qualifications.

Availability Required

  • You must be available to work two-thirds of the scheduled events for each month, including two-thirds of all weekend events. Most shifts are evenings, weekends, and holidays.


  • You will be required to wear a uniform provided by the SAP Center. To obtain this uniform, SAP Center requires a $50.00 deposit.


  • You must enjoy working with a variety of people and have a service-oriented approach to work.
  • The applicant must in possession of a State of California EMT License (Gray Card) and a Health Provider CPR Certification Card at the time of application.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Stand for a long period of time.
  • Be able to assist in lifting injured persons onto a gurney for transport.
  • 18 years or older is preferred.


  • $20.50/hour to start
  • $20.80 after 1 year and 260 hours worked
